Simone Sampaio
Simone is a new running coach with many years of teaching experience that makes her very patient and organized. She believes every time you go out and run, you’re depositing fitness into your fitness account, therefore, consistency is one of the most important aspects of improving. However, listening to how you feel and adapting to that will give you longevity in this sport.

Spanish and Portuguese
How would you describe your coaching style?
I’m a more holistic all-inclusive type of coach. I believe what you do every day will impact your running and vice versa.
What is your proudest coaching moment?
Bringing a new runner to the SHAPE + Health Women’s Half-Marathon and she felt great about it, even though she had doubts she wouldn’t be able to run it until a few days before the race. Seeing her after the finish line with a huge smile was extremely inspiring.
What is your favorite workout to coach and why?
All workouts are excellent, and they expose runners to different challenges.

Where is your favorite place to run in New York City?
Central Park is my favorite but running different routes throughout the boroughs is also so much fun.
What is your favorite NYRR race?
Every race I get to run.
What is your personal running motto?
Having a race on my calendar will keep me working hard.
