Jen Harper

Jen discovered her love for running in 2015 when a friend encouraged her to complete the 9+1 in order to run her first Marathon (TCS New York City Marathon) in 2016. Her desire to improve is what originally brought her to Group Training in May of that year. After several sessions, she knew she wanted to be a part of helping others reach their goals, which lead her to get her RRCA Level 1 Run Coach Certification in 2017. The only thing Jen loves more than running is the community itself and she considers herself lucky to be a part of it.

In addition to being a running coach, Jen is also Yoga Alliance Certified to teach Vinayasa and Yin Yoga. You can find her at the RunCenter teaching early morning classes a few times a month.

Where is your favorite place to run in New York City?
Along the East River, over the 59th Street Bridge, and through Queens

What is your favorite NYRR race?
The TCS New York City Marathon

What is your personal running motto?
“Smiling makes you run faster!” or “Maybe yoga is working.”
