April Brown
April Brown is an RRCA Level 1-certified coach and joined the NYRR coaching staff in 2017. Her focus is to use a multi-disciplinary approach to train runners so they can reach their endurance and race goals. She discovered her love for running decades ago and became a mentor and coach in 2011 when she joined Team LUNA Chix NYC, a female-led training group sponsored by Clif Bar & Co. The team ran from 2011 to 2014 and was dedicated to training women to run their first competitive race.
In addition to running, April is an active cyclist, yoga enthusiast, and boot-camp warrior. She has multiple Spartan races under her belt. She strongly believes that taking time to include other sports that you enjoy makes you a stronger runner. Cross training is key!
