Spencer and Penny, known as "the Boston Marathon dogs," took their usual spots along the Hopkinton-to-Boston route Monday, although the race has been postponed until September. Their owner thought their presence would give people a boost on a tough day. It sure gave US a boost!

This New York man ran the equivalent of what would have been his eighth Boston Marathon Monday in 1,098 loops of his South Harlem rooftop.
A Boston restaurant owner who would have run his first hometown marathon there Monday ran it instead on his treadmill as a fundraiser for his staff.
German Silva, the 1994 and 1995 New York City Marathon champion, also ran a treadmill marathon. He completed it Sunday in honor of the medical personnel working on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic.
