ENTRIES TO THE 2020 VIRTUAL TCS NEW YORK CITY MARATHON RUN FOR GUARANTEED ENTRY (“Virtual Marathon”) ARE LIMITED AND OFFERED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED BASIS. PARTICIPANTS THAT COMPLETE THE VIRTUAL MARATHON IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS WILL RECEIVE THE FOLLOWING: (1) A GUARANTEED, NON-COMPLIMENTARY ENTRY* FOR A FUTURE MARATHON (2021, 2022, OR 2023)**, (2) A PHYSICAL VIRTUAL MARATHON FINISHER MEDAL, AND (3) ACCESS TO SPECIAL TCS NEW YORK CITY MARATHON PROGRAMMING . You must be 18 years or older to participate in the Virtual Marathon. Using the Strava app to track their participation, participants must complete the total Virtual Marathon distance of 26.2 miles, by either running and/or walking only, within a continuous period of 8 hours any time between October 17, 2020 and November 1, 2020. Virtual Marathon must be completed by 11:59 p.m. (in the participant’s time zone) on November 1, 2020, and uploaded to Strava by 11:59 p.m. (in the participant’s time zone) on November 4, 2020. NYRR is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, incomplete or inaccurate Virtual Marathon results. Furthermore, NYRR is not responsible for errors, omissions, interruptions, deletions, defects, or delays in operations or transmission of information, in each case whether arising by way of technical or other failures or malfunctions of computer hardware, software, communications devices; or for transmission lines or data corruption, destruction, unauthorized access to or alteration of data, including Virtual Marathon results. NYRR reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant from the Virtual Marathon or any other event conducted now or in the future by NYRR if he/she tampers with the Virtual Marathon or if his/her fraud or misconduct affects the integrity of the Virtual Marathon. For the avoidance of doubt, any attempt by any participant to complete the Virtual Marathon on behalf of one or more individuals will result in the disqualification of all individuals involved in such transgression. NOTE: NYRR reserves the right to correct clerical or typographical errors in promotional materials related to the Virtual Marathon.
*Non-Complimentary Entry means you will be required to pay for the then applicable race entry fee at the time of your registration for a future marathon (2021, 2022, or 2023). NYRR Member and non-member rates will be honored. The non-complimentary entry must be used by the person who earns it by registering for and completing the 2020 Virtual Marathon in accordance with these terms and conditions herein, and may not be transferred in any way. The Virtual Marathon finisher medal and access to special TCS New York City Marathon programming are provided at no additional charge.
*If you register for and complete the Run for Guaranteed Entry tier or Run for NYRR Team for Kids tier, you will participate in a future marathon selection process in 2021 to choose the year for your non-complimentary entry (either 2021, 2022, or 2023). You may not be guaranteed your preferred year due to potential limitations to future field sizes.
