Cancellation

We have a cancellation policy for the 2019 Popular® Brooklyn Half. Entrants (except as noted below) who cancel their 2019 race entry by following the guidelines and instructions below will be eligible for guaranteed entry to the 2020 Popular® Brooklyn Half.

Cancellation Guidelines

• You will still need to claim your entry in 2020; you are not automatically placed in the race. In order to claim your guaranteed entry, you must submit and pay the 2020 entry fees during the guaranteed entrant application window (dates TBD). You are not automatically entered in the race.
• Runners who earn guaranteed entry to the 2020 race through this method will be able to cancel their entry again in 2020, but they will not be eligible for guaranteed entry to the 2021 race.
• All race entry fees are non-refundable. Once you have cancelled, you cannot be reinstated into the 2019 Popular® Brooklyn Half.
• You may not give or sell your number to another person. Please read our policies regarding race numbers in our Rules of Competition.

Cancellation Instructions

• Online: Go to My NYRR and log in with your email address and password. Go to the Races and Registration section on the left toolbar to view the status of your half-marathon registration and follow the process to cancel your 2019 entry. The deadline to cancel online is 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, May 17. 
• In person: Cancellations will be accepted at the 2019 Popular® Brooklyn Half Pre-Party Presented by New Balance (May 16-18).

Team for Kids, International Travel Partners, Athletes with Disabilities (AWD), and Race Free entrants must follow special instructions to cancel:

Team for Kids

If you applied through Team for Kids and wish to cancel, please contact teamforkids@nyrr.org for cancellation requirements. The cancellation deadline for Team for Kids runners is 11:59 p.m. ET on Friday, May 17.

International Travel Partners

If you applied through an International Travel Partner and wish to cancel, please contact your travel partner directly. Withdrawn entrants will not receive guaranteed entry to the 2020 Popular® Brooklyn Half or subsequent years of the Brooklyn Half.

Athletes with Disabilities

Handcyclists and other AWDs entered in the 2019 race through Achilles International who cancel are not eligible for guaranteed entry to the 2020 race unless entered by Achilles International.

Race Free

Runners who received entry through NYRR's Race Free program must contact racefree@nyrr.org to cancel their entry.
