Stephanie Loleng

Stephanie joined NYRR Group Training as a participant back in 2018 and has been going to weekly workouts and weekend long run sessions (when she can!) ever since. To date, Stephanie has run 7 marathons in 4 states and on 2 continents, including the New York City Marathon twice, the Chicago Marathon, and the Loch Ness Marathon in Scotland. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she’s found her stride in NYC cruising up and down the hills of Central Park and along the bridle path. Stephanie enjoys talking to other runners about why they run, when they got started, and any goals they may have. She hopes to provide an encouraging environment for runners of all abilities working to get stronger while having fun!

 

What Program do you coach?
Group Training

How would you describe your coaching style?
Friendly, relaxed, and encouraging. I want runners to feel welcome and part of a supportive community.

What is your favorite workout to coach and why?
My favorite workout as a runner is doing Cat Hill repeats in Central Park. It's hard but feels like we're all in it together. I appreciate the coaches cheering us on!

What is your favorite place to run in New York City?
I love running along Central Park’s bridle path, especially above 91st Street because it feels a little wild.

What is your favorite NYRR race?
The Mastercard New York Mini 10K because it feels like a great way to kick off summer and the energy is so amazing with all the women running together in Central Park!

What is your personal running motto?
Keep showing up!
