The application period for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon took place from February 8 - 22, 2023. A drawing for accepted entries will follow on March 1, 2023.

NYRR Member-Only Second Chance Drawing
Current members of New York Road Runners who meet the eligibility criteria below and apply to the non-guaranteed general entry drawing will automatically be entered into the NYRR Member-Only Second Chance Drawing.

Current members of New York Road Runners who meet the eligibility criteria below and apply to the non-guaranteed general entry drawing will automatically be entered into the NYRR Member-Only Second Chance Drawing.
9+1 Program
NYRR members who, in 2022, ran nine qualifying NYRR races and volunteered at one qualifying event, were eligible to claim guaranteed non-complimentary entry to the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon between February 8 - 22, 2023.
Charities
Runners can add meaning to their miles and earn guaranteed entry to the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon by running with one of our official charity partners. Registration for 2023 official charity partners is now closed.
NYRR Team for Kids
While the NYRR Team for Kids guaranteed entry registration for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon is now closed, you can still train with Team for Kids to get race day ready if you already have entry! Runners with entry can register with Team for Kids and receive a reduced fundraising commitment of $2,100 to receive the training, coaching, and race day perks! Cancellation in 2022
Entrants who canceled their entry to the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon according to the cancellation guidelines were eligible to claim guaranteed non-complimentary entry to the 2023 race during the application window (February 8 - 22, 2023)
International Tour Operators
Non-US residents can book their marathon package with guaranteed entry through an Official International Tour Operator. Marathon packages can include hotel and/or flight to New York City.
NYRR Virtual Racing
Runners who registered for the Virtual TCS New York City Marathon (Guaranteed Entry) and completed their virtual race gain guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon. Finishers also received a Virtual TCS New York City Marathon finisher medal and keychain. Registrants receive access to a 60-day Strava subscription.
Completed 15-Plus
Runners who finish their 15th New York City Marathon are eligible for guaranteed entry in future years. These runners claimed their guaranteed entry during the claim period between February 8 - 22, 2023.
Resolutions from 2020
Registered runners from 2020's canceled TCS New York City Marathon who opted for guaranteed entry in 2023 during the resolution process were able to claim their guaranteed entry during the application window (February 8 - 22, 2023). This is the last year for resolution runners to claim their guaranteed entry.
Time-Qualifying Standards
Runners who meet time standards in 2022 at specific NYRR races are eligible for guaranteed entry to the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon. The limited number of spots made available on a first-come, first-served basis for runners who met the time standards in a non-NYRR race is now at capacity. Runners who do not gain entry to the event through this method were automatically moved into the drawing. Time-qualifying runners could apply for guaranteed entry during the application period from February 8 - 22, 2023.
5K and 10K Memberships
NYRR Members at the 5K and 10K level receive guaranteed entry to the TCS New York City Marathon among other annual benefits in thanks for their support of NYRR's mission to help and inspire people through running.
