Runners must select their official transportation to the start of the TCS New York City Marathon. The selection window for 2022 closed on September 15; if you did not select official transportation to the start and wish to do so, please visit the Runner Support Center at the TCS New York City Marathon Expo Presented by New Balance.
Please note that you may not check a bag at the start for transport to the finish; learn more on our Pre-Race Bag Check page.
We strongly encourage runners to take official transportation to the start. On race day, please take your assigned transportation.
How to Select Your Race-Day Transportation
To select your transportation to the start, sign in to your NYRR account, navigate to your dashboard, and scroll to your Upcoming Events section (near the bottom of the dashboard).
In the listing for the 2022 TCS New York City Marathon, you'll see a heading labeled Transportation; below that heading, click "Add" and you should see a pop-up window that presents you with your transportation options.
Please note: You will only see transportation options that will get you to the start area in time for your assigned wave start. Your transportation will be printed on your race number.
Please note: All TCS New York City Marathon official transportation options use New York City public transportation. For runners taking public transportation to Staten Island, including buses and ferries, face coverings are optional in accordance with city guidelines. The latest health and safety guidelines on New York public transportation can be found at Metropolitan Transportation Authority and New York City Ferry Service. For more information on health and safety at the TCS New York City Marathon, please visit our health and safety page.
