Important Volunteer Updates

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with New York Road Runners.

When people cancel their volunteer opportunities, they become available again on the website. We do not have a waitlist for volunteer opportunities.

Reminder emails are sent out to registered volunteers 7-10 days before an event and these emails normally generate cancellations.

Key Dates

New volunteer opportunities will become available based on the following schedule:

• Advance volunteer registration for July–September races will open on May 20. General volunteer registration will open on May 22. You will not be able to register to volunteer at an event if you are registered to participate in the event.
• 2025 RBC Brooklyn Half volunteer (including Pre-Party) opportunities are open.
• Various Community Matters (park clean-ups) will be added as they are scheduled.

Additional volunteer opportunities will become available as operational needs arise.

As a reminder, NYRR does not accept walk-up volunteers and there is no on-site volunteer registration.

Helpful Tips

• We do not have a wait list for volunteer opportunities.
• If there is a specific race at which you would like to volunteer, but is currently full, check the Volunteer Opportunities page early in race week.
