Eilish McColgan
Eilish McColgan is a three-time Olympian and the daughter of 1991 New York City Marathon champion and Olympic medalist Liz McColgan. She represented her nation at the London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She is the British record-holder in the 5,000 meters and a seven-time national champion who is coming off the best season of her career. Last year, she won a silver and bronze medal at the European Championships and gold and silver at the Commonwealth Games, setting a 10,000-meter Games record at the latter 36 years after her mother won gold in the same race. She also won a European Championships silver medal in 2018 and a European Indoor Championships bronze medal in 2017.
McColgan has raced five times previously in New York, most recently winning the NYRR Midnight Run in 2019. She is coached by her mother and will be making her marathon debut later this spring at the London Marathon. She and her partner, Olympic athlete Michael Rimmer, have a non-profit called Giving Back to Track which inspires children from all backgrounds in Scotland to lead an active lifestyle.
